Tahoe 2011

I'm a little behind in posting our ski trip pictures.  It's been busy here with 4 sports plus theatre and general busy-ness.

We went to Tahoe with the Massimis and, as usual, had a fabulous ski trip.  We flew into Reno, NV in the midst of a snow storm.
Here is the airport.

Then we had an adventure putting chains on the rental car (actually Tom & Matt had that pleasure).  I stayed in the car where it was not snowing and freezing.
A 30 mph drive to Tahoe in more snow than I have EVER seen!
We settled into a great rental house.

 Notice my Christmas present: new ski clothes...now I don't have borrow from Mindy every year.  It was so cold I had on about 5 layers so I look a little puffy.

We are close and cozy in a tiny hotel in LA awaiting a 4 am trip to the airport to fly (hopefully) standby to Reno and then on to Tahoe to ski for 3 days...all thanks to our fabulous friends, the Massimis. Seriously, they are the most efficient and economical and fun traveling companions ever. Here we come snow!!!

This is what I got from my Valentine.  Isn't it just perfect!  I absolutely love it.  It is my screensaver on my phone and my computer.  Right now it's outside my front door, but I want to move it indoors after February 14th so I can enjoy it more often.
I have the best Valentine ever, in my opinion.

Cookie Time

Yesterday Grace and I helped unload a U-Haul truck full of Girl Scout cookies.  I kid you not.  My little go-getter sold 298 boxes, a new personal best for her.  Lots of thanks go to her dad who puts out the order form at the office.  The troop thanks everyone who ordered cookies.  Here is what our living room looked like this weekend:

I'm sitting outside in lovely Az weather staying away from my sick boys. Tom is so sick he came home from work and that NEVER happens.

I Wanna Be Like You

I was able to make this not-so-great quality video of Grace's Variety Show routine last night.  She's right in the middle... The cute one with the big smile (no glasses).

It's Show Time

It's that time of year again...the infamous Hopi Variety Show. Not your standard elementary school talent show. This is a Production!! Last night was the first dress rehearsal. Here's some pics of Grace's act. They dance to the song "I Want to be Like You" from The Jungle Book.
Although earlier in the day Grace was singing a made up song about not being chosen for the MC part and it was breaking my heart. :(
