Class of 85

January 9, 2013
So way back on December 1, 2012, Brophy held its annual Parent/Faculty Christmas Dance.  Parents (and faculty I assume) get all dressed up and go to in a fancy car to high school Brophy for a dinner/dance.  It's basically reliving your youth because it's actually at the high school and you feel like a teenager again when the dinner is over and everyone is getting crazy on the dance floor.  Except now you can actually walk in the high heels and they serve alcohol!
We went with one of the MOST fun couples we know.  Tom actually went to high school with Grant & Jennifer.  No dance photos because (sorry to sound like a broken record here) my iPhone stinks with a flash.
Here we are before the dance.  Jennifer's teenage daughter posed us in the "prom pose" for the first one.

Tommy took some of us before we left in the fancy car.  Funny story about that: when the car pulled up, I wasn't quite ready, so the driver was waiting patiently outside.  Our other crazy friends/next door neighbors snuck into the car (with the driver's blessing) and scared the pants off us when we opened the door.  It was hilarious.

This is my favorite picture of the whole night...maybe the whole holiday season (except for my Christmas card photo).

Happy Anniversary

Tom and I just celebrated our 15 year anniversary.  It was April 18th.  It was also the day Tom gave a very moving, heartfelt, and beautiful eulogy at his friend Doug's dad, Gary Johnson's, funeral.  Tom had everyone laughing and crying and laughing again.  He received a multitude of compliments, most of which went something like, "You described Gary perfectly. That was just how I remember Gary." And then the person would tell Tom a funny story about Gary.  I am so proud of him.  If I can wrangle a copy from him, I will post it because if you knew Gary, you'll love it; if you didn't, you will wish you had known him after reading how Tom felt about him.
Now on to the anniversary.  Obviously, we didn't celebrate on the 18th. We went to a Coyotes' hockey game on Saturday the 21st instead.  It was a playoff game which means it was a "White Out." To you know Coyotes fans, that means all the Coyotes fans are supposed to wear white to the game.  It really is a cool thing to see and a playoff game is always more exciting than regular season.  We should know, we've been to 3 playoff games over the years.  Never ever going again.  They lose every time.  Maybe I am a jinx.  I will spare the Coyotes any more post season strife and stay home and watch on TV.
But I had a nice lady take our photo at the game:
And here is my anniversary photo tribute:

Happy Birthday

April 25, 2012

Today is Tom's 45th birthday.  We got Mexican take out, he got a couple cards, a gift from my mom,  and that was about the extent of the celebrating.  It is Wednesday after all.  I have planned a big Ping Pong Tournament for Saturday in his honor, but I wasn't allowed to tell any party guests that it was a birthday party.  Some of them know, but most do not.
The present was a big failure too.  I ordered him a new grill to go on the fancy new back patio (that's a whole other post) but it can with big dent so I sent it back to Wally World.  The new hopefully undamaged grill will arrive by May 7.
To celebrate my wonderful hubby, here are some of my favorite photos of him.

Happy Father's Day

June 19, 2011

I'm a bit tardy, but Happy Father's Day!
Tom got the kids to go to church with me (and him) after taking the kids to IHOP for breakfast.  Sounds more like Mother's Day since I got to sleep while they went to breakfast.
On our way into church, we noticed Tommy & Grace were wearing "matching" outfits...sort of.  Green striped shirts and tan shorts.  Cute.

Then I set out to check another item off my to-do list bake banana bread.  I realize that is a rather random  thing "to-do" but I had it in my head for weeks.  So I made a double batch.  Then I realized half way through baking that I forgot to add the vegetable oil.  Well, it is a tad dry.  I think if I slather it in butter, it might not be so bad.  Or not.  I threw out one loaf and am trying to make myself eat the other one since I REALLY wanted banana bread.
Next up....the shed.

P.S.  Happy Birthday Cathy!!!  You are the best!

Happy Valentine's Day!

February 14, 2011

This is what I got from my Valentine.  Isn't it just perfect!  I absolutely love it.  It is my screensaver on my phone and my computer.  Right now it's outside my front door, but I want to move it indoors after February 14th so I can enjoy it more often.
I have the best Valentine ever, in my opinion.
I hope you have a sweet day too!

I Was Right!

April 20, 2010

If you haven't read my post from April 18, 2010, go read it right now.  I'll wait.
. . . Done?

Ok.
Now let me just say, I was right about how great Tom is.  In fact, I underestimated how amazing my husband is.
Reason # 14 why Tom is the absolute best-ever greatest husband E-ver is this little baby right here:

Yep.  He surprised me yesterday with this baby in the driveway.  I have wanted a convertible bug since I was 16.  I LOVE, love, LOVE it!!  It's just adorable from top to bottom.  Woo Hoo!

Halloween Treat from My Hubby

October 13, 2009

Today Tom came home from work and announced he bought me a present.
And it's not even my birthday (only 22 more days, but who's counting?).
He said he saw a this and thought it was "cute" (his actual words) and thought I'd like it.
How sweet is he?!
I told him he was starting to behave like me . . .buying things we don't need just because they are cute.
He got me this cute Halloween mug from Starbucks.

And on the inside. . . this cute little guy.

Trick or Treat.
Thanks Tom.
xoxo
